Bonds Methodology

    What This Dashboard Shows

This dashboard displays public exchange-reported prices for select Venezuela sovereign and PDVSA bonds. We do not source prices from subscription data vendors, OTC dealer quotes, or other non-public sources.

Why Only Pre-25 Aug 2017 Bonds

This dashboard intentionally lists only bonds issued prior to 25 Aug 2017 because secondary-market trading permissibility has been tied to issuance date in relevant sanctions licensing frameworks.

This site does not determine eligibility. It is a reference filter only. Users must verify sanctions and trading eligibility with their broker and counsel.

Why Some Days Show No Data

Many Venezuela and PDVSA bonds trade primarily over-the-counter (OTC) rather than on organized exchanges. As a result:

    • Some bonds may have no public exchange price on a given day
    • Prices may be stale, reflecting trades from days or weeks prior
    • Exchange-reported prices may differ significantly from OTC levels
    • Trading volume on exchanges may be minimal or non-existent

When no price is available, we display "No Data" rather than estimate or interpolate.

    Update Schedule

Prices are fetched once daily, typically at 18:30 Europe/London time (after EU market hours). The "closing price previous trading day" or equivalent is captured when available.

The timestamp shown on the dashboard reflects when the data was last fetched, not necessarily when trades occurred.

    Definitions

    Price Unit: Percent of Par
Bond prices are quoted as a percentage of face value. A price of 12.50 means 12.50% of par, or $12.50 per $100 face value.
    Close Previous Trading Day
The closing price from the most recent trading day on which the instrument traded on the exchange.
    Equal-Weight Index
An average of available prices for featured bonds, computed only when at least 3 bonds have prices for a given date.

    Disclaimer

Informational purposes only. This dashboard is not investment advice, trading advice, or legal advice.

Prices shown may be stale, inaccurate, or unrepresentative of current market conditions. Wide bid-ask spreads and illiquidity are common in this market segment.

Sanctions compliance. Users must verify sanctions and trading eligibility independently with their broker, compliance team, and legal counsel before any transaction.

The inclusion of a bond in this dashboard does not imply that it is legal to trade, OFAC-approved, or suitable for any particular investor.
